About

dance, My PHILOSOPHY

Junction dance school, a brand new street dance school set up in 2026 by Mia Skoines.

Junction dance school started because I grew up in competitive street dance and it shaped the person I am today. By competing and being part of a dance community, not only did I gain dance training I learnt resilience, kindness and made friendships for life. This is what inspired me to open my own dance school that feels like a community and an environment for dancers of any ability to grow and gain confidence. Junction dance school prioritises friendship and inclusivity ensuring that every dancer feels valued and encouraged every step of their dance journey. After graduating from Performers College and receiving my degree in Musical Theatre and Dance I knew I needed to use this to create a safe space for young dancers where self-expression and uniqueness is not only recognised but celebrated!

During classes students will learn foundation moves of street dance styles including Hip-Hop, Locking, House, Popping, Whacking and Commercial as well as routines that enhance focus and memory, physical coordination and boosts confidence as they see their progress overtime. Junction dance students may have the opportunity to join our competition teams to compete and represent the schools values and morals when outside of the classes.
